I am a weaver and upholsterer located in Rothesay, New Brunswick, Canada.
Providing hand-woven, eco-friendly textile products allows me to offer customers confidence that their choices have a positive impact on their lives, and the environment. I am super passionate about giving new life to heirlooms and distinctive vintage furniture, while focusing on creative ways to minimise project waste by reducing, reclaiming and upcycling. – Andrea
About the Artist
Andrea Butler graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a major in textiles. She received a Saint John Regional Arts Grant to create three large scale tapestries that hung on the exterior east wall of Imperial Theatre, was one of four Canadians chosen as part of the American Tapestry Biennial 6, and three of her tapestries were included in From Lausanne to Beijing 8th International Fiber Art Biennale in Beijing, China.
Every piece of fabric is hand-woven by me in my studio. Much attention goes toward pattern and colour. I use all natural fibres.
The textile industry is infamous for its waste. I strive to craft functional, limited series products with net zero waste in mind.
Every piece, whether it's a cushion or chair or wall hanging, is completely unique. No two will ever be the same.
